Stabbing suspect tries to alter looks
A suspect in a 2009 stabbing incident in Shanghai, China, was arrested in late August after police conducted a raid on an illegal brothel and determined the man had stolen his brother's identification - and underwent cosmetic surgery to alter his looks.Police initially believed one of the customers in a Changzhou, China, brothel was the older brother of stabbing suspect Peng Yanzhao, who was at large after the 2009 stabbing incident. (There were no further details on the stabbing victim.)
The investigation revealed that Yanzhao fled Shanghai after taking his brother's identification card, and later underwent procedures in a "black clinic" to add a scar - and remove a mole - from his forehead, and alter his lips, according to the Shanghai Daily (shanghaidaily.com).
Authorities decided to investigate Yanzhao when the name that he provided yielded a picture of his brother in the police database, the newspaper reported. Yanzhao subsequently admitted to the cosmetic procedures, according to the report.
